Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.59 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in Spain (Colonia Patricia?), circa 18 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTO Laureate head of Augustus to right. Rev. S P Q R Slow quadriga to right containing aquila and decorated with four miniature galloping horses. BMC -. Cohen -. RIC 110. Very rare and beautifully toned. A few banker's marks on the obverse and the reverse struck slightly off flan, otherwise, very fine.
